edit: Milk + Butter

August in Valencia… is stifling, but the heat didn’t deter us from ordering ALL THE THINGS when we visited Milk + Butter, on Calle XXX in Russafa. The place is tiny so call ahead to reserve and, if you’re a party larger than six, you’ll need to be seated outdoors. Depending on the time of year, this obviously isn’t a bad thing. The service is friendly and not painfully slow given how busy it was.

What we ate - eggs benedict with various permutations of avocado, smoked salmon, and bacon, followed by pancakes and french toast.

What we drank - bloody marys, mimosas, freshly squeezed orange juice, and all the coffee.

Stand out dish - the enormously fluffy pancakes with blueberries baked in and lashings of lime zest drizzle over the top were everyone’s favourite. The home fries accompanying the eggs benedict came a close second, though.

Price - it came to about 20 quid a head, but we were being gluttonous. Each dish is less than 10, alcoholic drinks 4-5 euros, and coffees/juices in the 2-4 range.
